Nursery (Age: 3 to 4 years)

At Santa Clara Kids Nursery and Preschool programs offer our young learners a rich and comprehensive curriculum and engaging learning experience. The curriculum focuses on preparing students for elementary school as well as their social and emotional growth. The current student teacher ratio is 8:1.

Focusing on the social and emotional and well as academic needs of our young learners, our pedagogy emphasizes inquiry- and project-based instruction and learning. Through project-based learning, children actively investigate their interests, discover new ideas and develop their own understanding. In keeping with our mission and values, teachers encourage and support each child’s unique style of learning, interests and talents.

PP1  (Age: 4 to 5 years)

During their elementary school years, students in pp1 through Grade 5 accomplish increasingly complex tasks and deepen their conceptual understanding in all subject areas. Our comprehensive curriculum includes English Language Arts, Math, Science, Social Studies, Technology (including a Maker Space and the Design Thinking Process), Visual and Performing Arts, Music, Modern Languages, and Physical and Health Education. Equally important is the social and emotional development of our students, which is an integral part of teaching and learning at NYA.

The way in which we engage students in learning is as important as what we teach. Our pedagogy emphasizes inquiry- and project-based instruction and learning. We organize our curriculum into interdisciplinary units of study that integrate multiple subject areas, thereby enriching the learning experience for our students. Through project-based learning, children actively investigate their interests, discover new ideas and develop their own theories.
